Independent Movement for Kids

The attitudes and actions of parents are some of the most important factors in the development of a child's independent mobility. If parents value and believe in the idea of independence, the child will come to value and expect independence for him or herself. If the parents learn the basics of the skills the child will be learning, the child will learn those skills that much faster. The resources in this section will help parents learn ways to foster an atmosphere of encouragement, independence, and growth of skills.
